- Specialized in data warehouse / data mart designs and implementations for major corporations such as Fidelity, Gorton’s, Gillette, Friendly’s and Fort James (now Georgia Pacific).
- Trained in Oracle's Leadership Methodology
- Lead developer on an Oracle 8.0.5 warehouse for a major paper products producer, Fort James (now Georgia Pacific), Norwalk, CT. Used many aspects of PL/SQL to optimize the performance of the data extract and transformation. Was also able to make drastic improvements to the overall performance of the warehouse for users, often reducing query times from several minutes to a few seconds.
- Developed working proof-of-concept business intelligence system for a major financial institution, Putnam Investments, using Oracle 8.0.5, Designer 2.1.2, Express 6.2 and RAM/RAA 6.2.
- Proposed, sold and implemented data marts for a major financial institution, Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA. This was a highly successful project that had several phases.
- Used Oracle 8i with Discoverer 3.0x as the front-end tool.
- Born out of a need for ad-hoc reports from Oracle Financials data. The initial internal project created a series of complex views that were accessed by Discover.
- Single handedly convinced Fidelity project sponsor and 3 members of FMR senior management team to start a project to create user-friendly, subject-oriented data-marts that they could use to answer business questions.
- Started with one data mart as a proof of concept and later seven more were built. The project has since had several more successful phases, including the implementation of Essbase for OLAP analysis.
- Performed system audit and server recommendation for a major retail goods producer, Gillette South Boston, MA.
- Worked with a team to design a large staging area for major consumer package goods (CPG) producers, including Smuckers. Used Designer 2000.
